What students see

Achievements add four pages to the intranet. They are all reachable from the Achievements entry in the sidebar, and from the Achievements shortcut on a tenant's page and on an activity's page.

Catalog

PageShows
/achievementsEvery badge the student can see: global ones, then one section per tenant and per activity they are subscribed to
/<tenant>/achievementsGlobal badges, the tenant's badges, and those of the student's activities in that tenant
/<tenant>/<activity>/achievementsGlobal badges, the tenant's badges, and that activity's badges

Unlocked badges carry their unlock date. Only enabled badges are listed, and a secret badge only appears once the student has unlocked it.

Leaderboard

/achievements/leaderboard ranks students by the number of badges they unlocked. Students with the same count share the same rank, and the page is paginated.

note

The leaderboard is global only. The original design made its scope depend on where it was opened from — global from the home page, restricted to the tenant from a tenant page, restricted to the activity from an activity page. That part is not implemented: the link always leads to the global ranking.

The count covers every badge a student still holds, across all scopes. Revoked unlocks and deleted badges are left out.

Badge detail

/achievement/<achievement-uri> shows a badge's image, description and tags, along with the paginated list of the students who unlocked it. A student reaches it by clicking any badge in a catalog or on a profile.

warning

This page does not hide secret badges. A student who has not unlocked a secret badge will not find it in a catalog, but can still open its detail page if they know or guess its URI. Treat SECRET as "not advertised", not as a guarantee of confidentiality.

Profile

/users/<login> lists the badges a student unlocked, each with its unlock date. A student reaches their own profile from their avatar in the sidebar, and anyone's profile from the leaderboard or from a badge's detail page.

On someone else's profile, a secret badge the viewer has not unlocked themselves is shown with its name and description masked, and is not clickable.
