Since the 1st of September 2023, the news system using the NNTP protocol has been discontinued in favor of a Discourse platform hosted by the Forge.
The news system is a Discourse platform available at the following address:
To access the platform, just go to the website, and if you are not already logged on Forge ID, you will be redirected to the Forge ID login page.
Be aware that the platform is limited to EPITA students and staff. You will not be able to access it if you are not logged in with your Forge ID.
You should also be aware that the platform is not a chat system. Make sure that your posts are relevant to the category you are posting in.
Lastly, please note that the platform is managed by EPITA and that the rules of EPITA apply to it. Not respecting the rules or using the platform for illegal purposes may result in sanctions.
How to use it
Presentation
The platform is divided into several categories, each one corresponding to a specific part of the school. You can find the list of categories and their subcategories on the left side of the screen.
The categories can both contain topics and subcategories.
A topic is a discussion about a specific subject. It has a title and a
content that will be displayed as the first post of the topic. You can reply
to a topic by clicking on the Reply button at the bottom of the topic. This
will create a new post in the topic.
Please note that the platform is not a chat system.
Make sure that you are allowed the reply to a topic before doing so and that your post is relevant to the topic.
How to post a new topic
To post a new topic, you can click on the + New Topic button on the top right
when you are in a category or subcategory.

How to subscribe to a category
To subscribe to a category, from the category page, click on the bell icon on the top right of the screen.
Specific categories
General
The General category is the default category. It is used for general topics
and has no specific purpose. As always, make sure that your topic has relevance
before posting it (and that no other category is more appropriate).
Divers
The Divers category contains public subcategories that are not related
directly to a specific part of the school.
They are the legacy of the old news system and should contain all the topics that were in the old system.
As for every other category, make sure that your topic has relevance before posting it.
